Privacy policy
What this site collects, who receives it, and the choices you have. Last updated October 2026.
What we collect
Using the tools needs no account. When you look up a carrier or decode a VIN, the number you type is sent to the government service that holds the record (the FMCSA census on data.transportation.gov, or NHTSA's vPIC service) so the result can be shown. We do not keep those lookups.
Our hosting provider records standard request logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) for a short period to run and secure the site.
Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights, which count visits and page speed without cookies or personal identifiers. We also use Google Analytics 4, which sets cookies to recognise repeat visits. Outside the EEA, UK and Switzerland, Google Analytics 4 runs by default; inside them it sets no cookies until you accept. While the site shows no ads, our own banner asks and Google Analytics does not load before you allow it. Once ads are on, Google's consent message asks instead and covers analytics too; before you choose, Google Analytics may send cookieless, aggregated measurement pings. Use the Cookie choices link in the footer to withdraw or change your choice at any time.
Advertising
Pages may show ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar identifiers to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can manage personalised advertising at adssettings.google.com, and the list of ad technology providers Google works with is available in Google's publisher documentation. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland a consent message provided by Google and certified under the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework asks before personalised ads are shown; without consent you may still see non-personalised or limited ads. The Cookie choices link in the footer reopens that message.
Quote and service requests
If you send a permit expediting or freight factoring request, we store the details you enter (name, email, phone, company, USDOT number, state and your message) and pass them to a provider who can help, as the form states. We keep the request so we can answer questions about it. Nothing is shared with a provider without the consent box ticked. These forms are shown only when a provider is available.
The request forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile. When a request form is shown, it checks your browser and connection with Cloudflare, and when you submit, we send Cloudflare the check result and your IP address to tell people from automated submissions.
Your rights and contact
You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or object to its use. Write to the address on the about and contact page. We answer within 30 days.
