What this site is
BigRigDesk collects the rules a driver, dispatcher or broker needs before a move: oversize and overweight limits for every state, pilot car thresholds, holiday restrictions, trip permit fees, and live lookups of carriers, VINs, low clearances, weather alerts and diesel prices. It is independent and is not part of the US Department of Transportation, FMCSA or NHTSA.
Where the numbers come from
State rules are taken from the state agency's own pages, statutes and permit manuals, and each state page links its sources. Live figures come from government services at the moment you ask. Where a figure could not be confirmed on an official source, the page says "not confirmed" instead of guessing. Rules were last reviewed in October 2026.
